John Platero is the founder and owner of Future Fit, Inc. a successful multi-faceted fitness company that manages Personal Trainers, provides fitness products, services and educational services for the consumer. He is also the Director of the N. C. C. P. T. (The National Council of Certified Personal Trainers) which has certified thousands of personal trainers at its intensive, two-day workshops held throughout the country. He has appeared on numerous talk shows and has written articles on personal training and fitness for Muscle & Fitness, Shape Magazine, Muscle Mag, MAX, Oxygen Magazine and Ladies Home Journals, Exercise for Men, to name just a few. Mr. Platero also authored the N.C.C.P.T.’s basic personal training manual. In 1999, the prolific Platero wrote, produced and was featured in an infomercial, How to Become a Personal Trainer, which aired nationwide on ESPN, Fox Sports, Lifetime, E! Entertainment, MTV, The Learning Channel and VH-1. His first producing foray, How to Be Financially Successful as a Personal Trainer, is offered for sale at his personal training seminars. Since then, he has produced and written 31 fitness videos and hosted other fitness related infomercials such as the AB Revolutionizer which played here in the US and Europe. Platero has completed 34 fitness certifications from organizations such as ACSM, ACE, AFAA, ISSA, NASM, NBFE, NSCA and, most recently, the distinction of “Mastery Level” from The Resistance University. John overcame a back injury, knee surgery, a torn pec and lost 10% of his body weight to reach a body fat percentage of only 3.5% to win four gold, one silver and two bronze medals at the Huntsman Senior World Games in 2008. In 2009, he tore ligaments in his thumb, had surgery to reattach them, recovered and won three gold medals and one silver in the California Senior Olympics, two more gold medals in the National Senior Games champion becoming the national champion and two more gold medals in the Nevada Senior Olympics. At the 2009 Huntsman World Games he recently won five medals: a gold, two silver and two bronze. At the 2009 Master’s Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic he won a bronze medal in the time trial. He has also raced in Europe, where he trained with the Italian National Cycling team and won three trophies while staying in Italy. . Mr. Platero’s creative pursuits also extend to the musical arena.
